Edra ShowRoom
An exhibition space without time or boundaries
In October 2022 Edra inaugurated a new showroom at its premises in Perignano, Pisa.
By maintaining the exhibition concept that has long been a feature of company presentations, seen from international design shows to Spazio Edra spaces run in collaboration with authorised dealers in several cities, Edra has confirmed the principles behind its vision of what makes a curated exhibition space.
Large mirrored surfaces means the space seems to have no boundaries. It is intense, with pure geometries that are rich with reflections. Only objects from the collection are placed at the centre of the space, becoming the installation's absolute protagonists. Floors and ceilings with deep dark finishes create a timeless frame, neutral and absolute, that emphasises light and colour. Based on an idea by Edra President Valerio Mazzei wall-length mirrors alternate with large LED-light walls showing a rotating series of natural, classic and contemporary settings and images.
At the centre of the space a succession of mirrored prisms designed by Stefano Pasqualetti for Spazio Edra creates dividers the eye can see through, generating infinities of scenes. Mirrored surfaces dematerialise, they multiply the points of view, offer different trajectories and views of objects from all sides.
Rail-mounted lights beam illumination in overhead, raked, and back-lighting that is fundamental for showing refined coverings and the material qualities of the models on show.
This for Edra is the ideal place to present the collection, and to discover the comfort of seating, product quality and universality of use. “Universality is an expression of our respect for both environment and customer – says Valerio Mazzei – We make sofas and products that continue down the years. We aspire to become part of a heritage, passed on to the next generation. Our models sit well in contemporary lofts and in period homes. So exhibiting them in a space not characterized by a single style is perfect for us.” You can try and admire products in the showroom so as to fully appreciate their aesthetic, the great comfort and performance, and their quality.
“We try to show the value these pieces have and their character. We want people to discover our products and choose them knowing they have the freedom to express themselves in their own homes. This is why we never propose a defined or pre-packaged image of what lifestyle is. To personalise your home you have to be yourself, you need the freedom of choosing how to sit, how to combine your objects and accessories according to your own taste, without being afraid of making mistakes” concludes Monica Mazzei.
